RE-VITAL

LANCASTER

Revitalising Lancaster through
a dynamic, multi-functional space which
reconnects the city centre to the canal
and peripheral neighborhoods. The location close to Lancaster City Centre and the Castle runs along the canal and is sandwiched between River Lune and the east residential area.

This award winning proposal

re-frames the site as a pedestrian friendly ergonomic place using the concepts of visual connections and mental mind mapping. Places designed in the project are more crucial than buildings and individual artefacts. The spaces are intentionally created rather than just being left out. The design strategy has been crafted to a proper urban scale with clear appreciation of urban grain and built form.

Presented with the LI award, the deliveries of this project include 3D rendered flythrough, an exhibition board, a A1 sized 1:200 model, a artistic book describing the proposal and a 'virtual reality' output
